Obituary

ANDERSON KRIS BENTON, born on November 28, 1961, departed this life on November 10, 1997, after a long, courageous battle against his illness, finally succumbing to pneumonia and heart failure. Before his illness, he worked at Bryan's House as a computer analyst. Kris is preceded in death by his father. John Neal Anderson. Survived by his parents, Elizabeth Anderson Runkel and Donald A. Runkel, devoted sister, Kim Anderson Galetka and husband C.J. Galetka of Colorado Springs, grandmother Lee Holm of Enunclaw Wash. and great aunt Calista Starr of Calif., nephews Nicholas, Travis and Jeff Galetka, paternal uncle Bob Anderson of Enunclaw Wash. and family. maternal uncles Chris Brooks and family of Chugiak, Alaska, Scott Brooks and family of Wasilla, Alaska, Tom Brooks and family of Virginia Beach and Lewis Brooks and family of Gastonia, N.C. Also survived by family members Donald and Brandon Runkel of DeSoto, Karen Decker of New Jersey and Bettina Erickson of New York. Kris had many friends which include Donna Janeen, Rod, Zoe, Michael M., Vena and Bo Howell and his friends in his support group and square dance club, Kris graduated from high school in Colorado and college in California. He was an active member of the Big D Longhorns Square Dance Club. Kris loved music and theater in all forms. He had been a member of the San Francisco Chorus and Seattle Chorus. Kris blessed us with his sweet and generous spirit. Many thanks to loyal volunteers Irene Goocher, Joanne Parker, Debra Lyons and Steve Schlotens. Excellent care was given by Tisa RN, the ESU team and all others at VNA Hospice. Friends of American Hospice gave much support.
