John "Terry" Presley
11 May 1951 - 30 Apr 2008
Foggy City Dancers

Unbelievably kind, funny, and friendly, Terry possessed the sharpest wit you'd ever encounter.

Terry was a member of Foggy City Dancers, the Foggy City Performance Team, and Gold Rush. Some samples of Terry's wonderful calling can be seen in some videos of Foggy City Performance Team.

Terry and the real Sybil. Terry's drag persona Sybil, was named after his real-life ex-wife.

Sybil won the Honky Tonk Queen crown in 1987, and hosted or was featured at the contest for several years after that.

Terry received his 10-year medallion in 1995. Terry gave up square dancing to become more involved with the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus. He died unexpectedly in 2008.

Terry is remembered on the IAGSDC Memorial Panels. At Touch A Quarter Century there was a gathering of his friends to share stories and pin his badge to the memorial.

Terry's obituary in the Bay Area Reporter

There are lots of fond memories of Terry on Sybil's page.
