Floyd Coppin Hill

Foggy City Dancers
Coppin died peacefully at Coming Home Hospice after a long struggle with HIV disease. His loving friends, Bill, Jeff and Rod, were at his side. He approached his illness and death with the same gentle determination that marked his life.
An active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, Coppin was pleased to celebrate his 10th birthday in April. While his contributions were numerous, his courageous desire to experience life fully was perhaps his most vivid contribution. Coppin was a combination of serenity and anguish and, as a result, was a model of hope and comfort for many.
Coppin was helped by the loving care of so many people and organizations. His thanks and love go to Robert Bolan; the staff of Visiting Nurses/Hospice; his Shanti volunteers, Dennis and Steve; Gail Winston; the staff of Corning Home Hospice, and especially to Jeff Beckett who made a home for Coppin and tirelessly worked on his care. His concern and love for his daughter, Vicki, continues.
As per his wishes, A.A. meetings in his memory will be held locally and in San Diego, but arrangements are incomplete. For information, please call Bill Gibert at (415) 647-5248. Donations in Coppin's memory should be made to Shanti Project or Project Open Hand.
