Unfortunately, I have some sad news to pass on. Jim MacCall, a former member and past President of IS passed away this morning due to cardiac arrest. Kevin Melvin, his husband of 7 years and partner for 22, informed us of Jim's death. Both Kevin and Jim served on the Board as President and in various other positions in the late 90s and early 2000s. They retired and moved to Florida about 8 years ago. Before retiring, Jim taught elementary education in the Lower Merion School District for over 20 years.
Many of us long time members have fond memories of Jim and send our deepest condolences to Kevin. Kevin started dancing with us in 1994 and Jim joined us a few years later. Both Jim and Kevin attended many conventions and were active members of our Fly In committee during their time with the club.
I don't have a current email address for Kevin but he is on Facebook and I'm sure he would appreciate hearing from IS members who knew him.
