Norm received his BA Degree in English in 1960 and his HS teaching credential in 1961. In 1962 he got his MA degree in Theatre Arts. Norm taught at Norte del Rio and Foothill HS in Sacramento. He was a friend & mentor to his students and was deeply admired over the years by many of his former high school students through the years. Norm also had many very good friends in the Sacramento area. After retirement in 1993 Norm had a variety of interesting part-time jobs working in an art gallery and at Toys That Teach putting on children's workshops. He was participant of the forum under the name of Farley. In the last couple years he was a member at the Folsom Senior Center where Mondays and Fridays were his favorite days singing as part of the Off Key Singers. He had many great friends there. Norm was artistic, literate, humorous, and appreciated beauty in all of its forms. He loved to laugh, talk, and sing! His philosophies were similar to those of Thoreau, Wordsworth, Emerson, and other writers. To live free, simply and happily was always his goal. He achieved his goal many times over. Norm's ashes will be spread in the beauty of nature. Ken can be contacted at
