Obituary

FALK—Beatrice, born July 30, 1917, died peacefully on May 3 with family by her side. She is survived by her brother Ira Friedman of Delray Beach, FL. Bea was predeceased by her husbands Charles Rotstein and Nathan Falk. She was a graduate of both Hunter College and NYU. Bea was a retired teacher and long standing member of the UFT. Bea's love and knowledge of the Lower East Side was incredible and something she shared with everyone she met. She was a member of MoMA and the Met museums, as well as a frequent patron of theater and Indie films. She loved attending the Shakespeare class at the Stein Center and lectures at the Ethical Culture Center. Bea was always on the move but cherished quiet afternoons people watching in Battery Park. Her curiosity about the world led her to a love of traveling and folk dancing, something she shared with both her husbands. Bea will be missed by family, friends and by the city she so loved.[1]
