Obituary

SHATTLS — William D. July 5, 1946 to May 24, 1991, of complications of AIDS. The friends, family, and life companion of Bill Shattls express their heartfelt sadness and love on the occasion of his death. His courageous embracing of life even in the face of mortal illness was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a pioneer in the establishment of support services for people with AIDS, working in the context of the Gay Men’s Health Crisis, as well as in a private practice that was consistently life-affirming. He filled a warm place in our hearts. We remember him for his intelligence, wit, and caring. We will miss him and mourn his passing.
