IN MEMORIAM
Darren B. Gere
November 18, 1959 –
February 15, 1993

Darren Gere, 33, lost his courageous battle for life at exactly 10pm on Monday, February 15, 1993, at his home surrounded by family and friends. Darren was a 1978 graduate of Franklin Pierce High School, where he was a member of the drama club. Darren was also involved in the Seattle Men’s Chorus for almost 13 years and the Tacky Tourist of America, Seattle, coordinating many of those fabulous and phenomenal “tacky” parties and socials. He was especially fond of his 1975 Pontiac convertible, which was his pride and joy, as well as 1950s cars of all types, and the music from that era.

Darren was preceded by his brother Shane in 1982, and is survived by: parents, Hap and Shirley Gere; brother, Ivan Gere of Arizona; grandfather, J. Ivan Gere of Wenatchee; aunts, Barbara Andreason and Carol Parry of Tacoma and Edith McArdle of Seattle; along with numerous uncles, nieces, and nephews, and a large extended family of friends in Seattle, all of whom will miss him very much.

Services will be held on Sunday, February 21, at 1pm in the Chambers Creek Chapel, New Tacoma CemGetery, 9212 Chambers Creek Road, Tacoma. Anyone wishing to bring a photo they may have of Darren, to be added to a collage of his life, please bring it to the service with you. Remembrances may be made to Hospice of Tacoma or Pierce Country AIDS Foundation in Darren’s name. Arrangements by Tacoma Cemeteries and Funeral Home, 546-1311.[1]
