Garth Miller Gwinn
Garth Bwinn died peacefully in his sleep on March 23, at Garden Sullivan Hospital in San Francisco. He was 29.

A sweet, intelligent and caring man, he warmed many hearts with his generosity and slightly eccentric know-it-all personality.

Yearning to savor life with the spirit of adventure, he moved to San Francisco from his native Utah in 1980. He studied classics at UC Berkeley and at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.

Gwinn was a gourmet who loved to organize and cater events. He also had a passion for travel and roamed extensively throughout Europe soaking up its art, gardens and architecture.

Devoted to his work at Williams Sonoma on Post Street, he will be missed by his co-workers. Also among those who will deeply miss Garth are his parents and other family members: Kobi and Steph, Todd and Karen. Aubyn and Sally, Sara and Taylor. Special thanks to his devoted friend Felicia and his longtime friend Will, who was always by his side.

For information about memorial services, call 921-2709 or 772-8517. Contributions may be made in Garth's name to the Strybing Arboretum Society, 8th Avenue at Lincoln Way, SF 94112, where a bench will be placed in his memory. Bon voyage, Garth.[2]

Remembrances

A bench was placed in the San Francisco Botanical Garden. The plaque read:
In loving memory of Garth M. Gwinn
Who brought so much to our lives
Unfortunately, the benches have terms and since the donor, William Fabis, had passed away the term was not renewed. No photo available.
