Obituary

Jeffrey L. Claussen, 48, formerly of Westwood, KS, passed away June 29, 2006 at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, CA having suffered a ruptured esophagus. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the EpworthRoanoke United Methodist Church, 1717 W. 41st St., K.C., MO 64111. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations in Jeffrey's name to the church or to the charity of your choice. Jeffrey was born in the Russell Hospital in Russell, KS to Gerald and Dorothy Claussen. He attended Westwood View Elementary School, Old Mission Jr. High and Shawnee Mission North High School, graduating in 1976. He then attended one year at Johnson County Community College, graduated from the Independence School of Hair Dressing and worked as a stylist for a number of years. Jeffrey worked for A.T. & T. for a number of years before relocating to the California area where he worked and resided until his premature death. Jeffrey was the Branch Manager at the Exam One Office in Burlingame, CA and was loved and respected by his many co-workers and friends. He was an active youth square dancer belonging to the Starduster and Frontier Twirlers Youth Square Dance Clubs and the youth round dance club, the Flying Saucers. Jeffrey was an avid dancer and in his spare time taught ballroom dancing. He leaves behind his parents, Gerald and Dorothy Claussen, Westwood, KS; his sister, Cathy Faulconer and her husband Frank, Buckner, MO; nieces Sherry Faulconer, Walker, MO; Michelle Eastwood, her husband Andy and their daughter Kylee Joanna, Fontana, KS; a brother Rusty, his wife Susan and their children Samantha and Jordan Claussen, Overland Park, KS; his special round dance partner, Dorothy Kirkendoll, K.C., MO and his special friend and partner, Richard Yep, Berkley, CA along with a host of relatives and friends all over the country.
