IN MEMORIAM
Michael E. Graham
February 14, 1941 – May 13, 1992

Mike Graham passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 13th. His sudden, unexpected death may have been due to a heart condition.

Mike was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and lived in many parts of the country before settling in Seattle 15 years ago. He was involved in numerous organizations and activities, and he brought boundless energy and enthusiasm to all of them.

Mike enjoyed skiing, hiking, sailing, and riding his mountain bike. As an avid square dancer, he made many friends through the Puddletown Squares, and he was an enthusiastic fan of country and western dancing for many years. Mike helped to convert the Boren Street Disco into today’s Timberline Tavern, and on weekends he could often be found two-stepping with his friends.

Mike loved to travel, especially by train. He enjoyed the theater, socializing with friends and spending quiet evenings at home with those who were close to him. He was Telecommunications Manager at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Seattle for the last 15 years, and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Church of Religious Science.

A laugh or a smile were never long in coming to people who were fortunate enough to meet Mike. His warmth, generosity of spirit, and outgoing personality touched all those around him. He gave freely of himself, and would always offer a helping hand or reassuring word of comfort. To Mike, life was exciting and beautiful, a gift to be enjoyed and appreciated. His loss will be felt by his countless friends.

Mike is survived by his mother, Millie, brothers Tom, Jim, and Gordon, and his sister Susie. Memorial Services were held at the Columbia Funeral Home on Monday, May 18th, 1992, and those close to Mike wish to thank everyone who attended for making it such a loving tribute.

Mike requested that any remembrances be made to the NW AIDS Foundation.[2]
