Obituary
Patricia Phillips, 78, of Madeira Beach, Florida, died on Saturday, March 19, 2011, in Florida. Patricia was born in Lynn on August 10, 1932, daughter of the late Kenneth A. Phillips and Mary Eva (Laubner) Phillips. Patricia graduated from Lynn English High School and went on to receive her Masters degree and Doctorate in Health Education at Boston University. She taught in the Lynn school system and was later a professor of Health Education at Bridgewater State College for 30 years. Patricia was a renowned Square Dance caller and produced instructional albums. She enjoyed boating on the Annisquam River, tennis and golf. Patricia received her vows in the Third Order of our Lady of Mt. Carmel and was a volunteer CCD teacher at the former Sacred Heart Church and Our Lady of Good Voyage and a Eucharistic Minister at Both churches and at local nursing homes and hospital. She was the oldest of six siblings and generously provided support, comfort and love to each of them, to her parents, and to her many nieces and nephews. Patricia will always be remembered and missed by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her five siblings; Shirley Magill and husband Richard of Charleston S.C., Richard Phillips and his wife Claire of Ipswich, Kathryn Radcliffe and her husband John of Gloucester, Robert Phillips and his wife Gail of MD. , John Phillips and his wife Liz of Gloucester; and her devoted life-long friend, Fran Strazzulla. Her funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage, Prospect St. Gloucester, Ma. on Friday, March 25th at 9:30 AM. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend. A visiting hour will preceed the funeral mass from 8:00 to 9:00 AM in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester. The burial will be in Seaside Cemetery, Lanesville.
