Richard L. Eshelman
Richard L. Eshelman, 51, of 118 S. 21st St., Philadelphia, a Berks County native, was found dead Friday afternoon in his car in a rural area along Wheatfield Road, Spring Township.

Deputy Berks County Coroner Brian K. Houp pronounced Eshelman dead at the scene Friday afternoon. He said he issued a certificate of death by suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. He said Eshelman had been dead for about two days.

Born in West Reading, Eshelman was a son of Ralph D. and Thelma M. (Stufflet) Eshelman, Sinking Spring.

Eshelman was employed for six months in the men's clothing department of John Wanamaker's, Philadelphia. He also owned and operated an antiques business and, for about 10 years, had a stand at Renninger's Antique Market, Kutztown.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Donald C., Pottstown, and two nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Auman Funeral Home, Reading. Burial will be in Sinking Spring Cemetery.[1]
