Obituary

Susan J. Donnelly August 11, 1943 - September 19, 2020 In her final weeks of life, Sue Donnelly's best advice was, "Don't get old!" She lived life at a full gallop for so many years; the aging process was not her thing. Born in New York, Sue moved to the valley in early childhood and grew up in north Phoenix around 32nd St. & Bell Rd. An equestrian since her early teens, she saddled up for her last ride on her birthday in 2018. There was nothing she couldn’t build and everything she built was done right. No shoddy work from this lady! She retired from PVUSD in 1998 after teaching Physical Education for 30+ years. Sue earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education from Arizona State University. She was one of 6 women on the All-America’s Archery squad at ASU in 1967. Sue is survived by her devoted nephew, Darrel B Wiseman; her great niece, Kylee Wiseman; and a sister, Judith Kristen. A celebration of her life will occur Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 11am - 1pm at North Mountain Park, Yavapai Ramada 10600 N 7th St. Phoenix, AZ 85020. To honor her memory we invite you to wear western attire or something purple, if you have it. Please remember to wear a mask.

It is with very sad news to report Sue Donnelly pasted away yesterday. Sue danced with DVS for many years. Always with a smile and a twinkle in her eyes. May she now rest in peace and enjoy endless square dancing with our fellow DVS dancers that have went on before us.
