Obituary

In Loving Memory of
Todd Evan Zwahl

Todd died Thursday, October 11, 2001 in his home at the age of 44. He is survived by his partner Donald, his parents Floyd and Connie, brother Mark, sister Brenda, brother-in-law Doug and nephew Riley. His death completed a two-decade struggle against AIDS and hepatitis. Todd loved to sing, belonging at different times to the Seattle Men’s Chorus and the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Chorus. He loved science, photography and computers and teaching others about all three. He especially enjoyed desktop publishing and helped produce newsletters and fundraising publications for Seattle Lesbian and Gay Chorus, Kang Wen Clinic and the Sunset Hill Community Association. He cared for people as a health care professional for many years, most recently at Group Health Cooperative.

Most of all, Todd maintained a childlike enthusiasm for life, liked to make people laugh and discouraged them from taking things too seriously. He loved holidays, carving pumpkins, dyeing Easter eggs and decorating for Christmas. He was very sad he would not be able to watch his nephew grow up nor have a child of his own. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 17 at the Graham Visitor Center at the north end of the Washington Park Arboretum. For directions, call 206-543-8800. Donations may be made in Todd’s memory to the Seattle AIDS Support group, 303 17th Avenue E, Seattle, WA 98112. [1]
