Obituary

Shyron Levan Worlund, 62, died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Cochran Cemetery. Mr. Worlund was an Army veteran and worked for Union Planters Bank. Survivors include two daughters, Kim Pepper of Tarzana, Calif.; and Kay Edwards of Aurora, Colo.; one son, Max Worlund of Lithia Springs, Ga.; his mother, Evelyn Worlund of Bow, Wash.; four brothers, John Worlund of Bow, Bob Worlund and Donald Worlund, both of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; and Len Worlund of Huntsville; four sisters, Allanah Johnson of Santa Rosa Beach, Donna Hamilton and Wytannah Honey, both of Russellville, and Carmelita Rhymer of Rockmart, Ga.; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.^[1]

Remembrances

He was a retired army officer. He fought and was decorated with the bronze star, the air medal and purple heart for service and bravery in Vietnam. He attended Florence State College in Florence, Alabama. He worked for Union Planter's Bank at the time of his death.

I think I was the most excited person in the club when he became a member in December 2000. Then he died in January so there was no time for anyone to get to know him.
