Obituary

Jose Montoya, who was a technical writer for Tektronix for 16 years, died April 26, 1996, of complications of AIDS. He was 52.

A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in the Metropolitan Community Church of Portland where he served many years on the board of directors and was a deacon.

Mr. Montoya was born Jan. 4, 1944, in Albuquerque, N.M. He was a member of the Lazarus Community. He was preceded in death by his partner, Bob Carter.

Survivors include his best friend, Walter Bayless; brothers, Carlos, Cesariao, Tony, Acacio, Roy, Albert and John; sisters, Evelyn Apodaca, Victoria Armijo, Dimas Carabillo and Sylvia Garcia, all of Albuquerque.

Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests contributions to the church.[1]
