Obituary
LUSH — Murray at Vancouver General Hospital Wednesday, April 15, 1987, aged 41 years. Predeceased by his mother, Ella May. Survived by his loving father, Wilmer; sisters, Pearl Whittfield, Florence Oliver; brother, Ron all of Meaford, Ont. and brother, Gerald of Galt-Cambridge, Ont.; also many nieces and nephews as well as many loving friends. Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. in the Vancouver Chapel of First Memorial Services, 602 Kingsway. It would be appreciated that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Murray's memory to AIDS Vancouver. Arrangements through First Memorial Services.[1]
Remembrances
On April 15, 1987, Mr. Murray Lush died at the Vancouver General Hospital of a short term illness. Squares Across the Border would like to pay tribute to this man, who by his love for Square Dancing and for his friends, promoted Square Dancing in Vancouver, BC.
Murray was born June 25, 1945 in Meaford, Ontario Canada. Being raised on a farm, he developed a love for quarter horses and Country & Western Music.
In the Fall of 1983, Murray organized Squares Across the Border and remained involved with it ever since. He organized a group of dancers for the first IAGSDC convention in Seattle, All Join Hands, and attended each succeeding convention.
Murray will be remembered by all for his kindness and his availability to help others in need. He leaves us his love for Country & Western Music, and for Square Dancing.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 2, 1987 at the First Memorial Society Chapel in Vancouver.[2]
