Remembrances

To our Square Dance Family:

While Finest City Squares' members were helping another group of new Square Dancers learn the joys of Square Dancing, one of the avid supporters of new Square Dancers and long-time members of Finest City Squares made his transition into the Spirit realm.

Valentino (Val) Santos passed away at 8:10 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2005. Val leaves us with many fond memories and gives us cause to reflect on a life that was filled with contentment and a never-ending ability to reach out to others.

For more than a year Val has been courageously fighting with an illness that took many faces and names but never appeared to be clearly diagnosed. On July 10, 2005, shortly after our international Square Dance Convention in San Jose, Val had to be admitted to the hospital. In the months that followed, Val's strong will and unfaltering determination sustained him through many physical difficulties.

Val and his unique way to make moments happier and more enjoyable will be greatly missed.

A local memorial service has not been planned by Val's family.

We could plan to have a remembrance of Val at a future date
