Obituary

Thomas John Halloran
Travel Agency Business Manager
Thomas John Halloran, 51, business manager of International Journeys Travel Agency in Washington, died Jan. 24 at his home in Springfield after a heart attack. Mr. Halloran worked for International Journeys for the past 10 years. He served in the Peace Corps for three years in Western Samoa before moving to the Washington area in the early 1980s. He regularly volunteered with Brother Help Thyself, Food and Friends, DC Lambda Squares and other community organizations. He was a graduate of Canisius College in his native Buffalo. Survivors include his companion, Bob Dye of Springfield; a brother, Richard, of Detroit; and three sisters, Jean Zillox of Toledo and Maureen Romito and Ann Jenl both of Las Vegas.[1]

Remembrances

I've had requests for information on Tom Halloran's funeral. Sorry about not posting it before. The funeral service took place Monday morning, Jan. 28th at the Jefferson Funeral Home in Springfield, VA. There were two viewings the previous day. (And to clarify due to my typing error, Tom died on Thursday, January 24th.) Brother Help Thyself is a good organization. It was started by the DC leather community to raise money for AIDS charities, and also contributes to local GLBT groups.
